Large Rooms

Okay it's not the Ritz, it's not even a Holiday Inn, but it worked for me for the two night I needed to be in Palo Alto, while my husband was in the hospital. Weekend rates are reasonable, should be the rate every night. BUT not. Weekday rates are high. Breakfast is very light. The best item for breakfast is they serve "Peet's" coffee. Yummy, my favorite. Rooms are large. They didn't have a single room left when I got there, so I got two queen beds, double room and it was huge. Make sure you check the rates online. They do offer AAA rates, I saved $10.00 a night. Microwave, refrigerator, iron and ironing board in room. Starbucks coffee in room, and Neutrogena soap in bathroom. Clean, but old motel

Close to Stanford University

The owner has clearly tried to take an older motel and renovate it. Even though it's showing its age, the motel appears to have a relatively fresh paint job inside and out. We enjoyed the two-room suite (with a queen bed in each) that we had reserved. The air conditioning units are old, but they cooled the room effectively. Plus, they help mask any road noise from El Camino Real, which is a pretty busy street. The room had a little kitchenette, with a microwave, refrigerator, and a coffee maker with packets of Starbucks coffee. A light continental breakfast is served in the office, and you can bring it up to your room. The bathroom had a nice shower head with multiple spray settings, and a curved shower rod for more space. The tiles were upgraded. Neutrogena-branded toiletry products are provided. The toilet seat probably could use replacement, and the exhaust fan did not work. The towels were a bit old, but clean. The lamps by the sides of the beds had outlets in their bases - very useful for plugging in your phone charger. The beds were reasonably comfortable, and the televisions came with free HBO. Overall, I'd say this was a fair value in comparison to other, pricier hotels in the area. The motel is conveniently located within a short drive from Stanford University, and it's practically next door to one of my favorite area restaurants - The Fish Market

Mr/Mrs

Very nice check-in experience. Clean room and fairly quiet considering the location on a very busy main street of Palo Alto. Would stay here again. Convenient location. Close to many restaurants, freeway and shopping center

Great! I would stay again

Okay, it's an older motel. But considering the price, it's very nice. Front desk guy was nice. My bed** was super comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot. There's room for your own stuff on the sink counter. I really appreciate that. ** I have lifelong back issues made worse by long periods of sitting, which I was doing at the conference. It could have been bad, but the bed was just right for me. From reading reviews, I knew breakfast would be basic and I was attending a conference that offered its own breakfast anyway. Parmani has quite decent coffee at 6:30 am <3 I planned ahead and brought my own cream and put it in the fridge in my room. It was perfect. If you want a sit down place and something more elaborate, there is a Corner Bakery Cafe down the street that opens at 7 am. I didn't try it. My first floor room was next to the ice machine, which gave me pause when I checked in, and indeed it did a certain amount of whirring and banging, but most of the time it was quiet and it never once woke me up. I wore ear plugs. There is traffic noise from El Camino Real, but it's surprisingly not bad. Probably quieter downstairs than up? I was there for two nights mid week and there was not a ton of coming and going in the parking lot. I slept as well as at home. I expect, it was a quiet time to be there. Wifi, fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board. The windows open if you want fresh air. I was there alone and felt safe. Convenient to Stanford University Please tip the maid

Serviceable, and not as badly overpriced as most

Silicon valley has about the worse price to quality ratio in the world. Most "hotels" here barely meet the standards of a cheap, chain motel elsewhere. But are priced at a luxury level. Think Motel 6 at $300 per night. Hotel Parmani is not much nicer than the rest, if at all. It's definitely a motel. But it isn't as badly overpriced as most, and it's in walking distance of California Avenue, so that makes it a bargain. Recommended. Ignore the breakfast offering
